Shep is one of the owners and directors of Camp Skylemar. He’s a larger-than-life character, who leads everyone at Skylemar. A former 2nd grade teacher of over 30 years, Shep loves working with kids. He’s inexplicably fun, uses humor as a way of making everyone feel welcome, and makes every decision necessary to ensure safety perfection at Camp. Shep first came to Skylemar in the summer of 1980 as a lacrosse and hockey counselor. He met the love of his life, Arleen, and raised a family within the Skylemar world. Shep is as involved with day-to-day camper life as possible. He is a frequent costume and silly hat wearer, looks much like his presenting counterpart, ‘adventureman’ (who provides survival skills/stories at our weekly campfires) and greets each person who arrives at Skylemar with the phrase, “welcome home.”
